Ben is Head of Private Market Solutions for WTW and responsible for leading the Specialist Portfolio Solutions (SPS) business in the Americas region. In this role he is responsible for growth, strategy, design and implementation of specialist Private Markets mandates including private equity, real assets and private debt.
Ben joined WTW in 2018 having previously spent seven years with FirstRand in London, firstly in the debt capital markets team of their investment bank, RMB, and then in the asset management business, Ashburton Investments specializing in alternative investment solutions for institutional clients. He began his career as a private equity analyst in Johannesburg.
Ben has worked in Johannesburg, London and now Chicago with clients globally including: sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, family offices and pension plans of all sizes. As financial markets have evolved and the investment landscape has become increasingly complex, Ben has focused on helping his clients successfully navigate that - designing and implementing strategies in alternative asset classes that can help them achieve their long-term objectives.
Education and Credentials
Ben is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago, has a Masters in Finance from London Business School and a B.Bus.Sc (Honours) in Finance & Economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
